Light:
Full sun.

Soil:
Tolerates a wide variety of soils. Roots are invasive.

Fertilizer:
Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer according to label directions.

Water:
How much: Apply enough water to wet the soil 3 to 4 feet deep. To determine the proper amount of water for your soil type, see How Much Water to Apply.

How often: Some poplars are drought tolerant once established. However, most poplars prefer moist soils, and some even tolerate soils that are soggy or flooded.

Pruning:
Prune off suckers and broken branches, and prune to maintain shape.
